Poker Championship Game

The entire series of events at the WCOOP was a complete success; players from all over the world wanted a chunk of the groundbreaking prize pools, most of which exceeded the guaranteed prize pool.

The last events were held this past weekend; event 43 was a No Limit Hold’em tourney with a prize pool of $1.8 million, the man that outlasted the 9,220 player field was PokerStars pro Beltrand “ElkY” Grospellier, and he took the first place prize of $263K.

Event 44 was a HORSE high roller tourney that had a $1 million prize pool. Out of the one hundred and three players, 14% were PokerStars pros. Names like Greg Raymer, Daniel Negreanu, Chris Moneymaker, Joe Hachem, George Danzer, Barry Greenstein, Bertrand Grospellier and many others were spotted at the different tables. Daniel “djk123” Kelly was the man with the skill and luck to overcome such an outstanding player field.

All players gave their best efforts to be in the top 306 places that would take a piece of the massive prize pool. At the end it was Ukrainian player Yevgeniy “Jovial Gent” Timoshenko who took home the $1.7 million prize pool.
