How to Play: Your ultimate goal is to expand your ‘Family’s’ territory until you control all 5 Boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, Queens, The Bronx, Brooklyn, and Staten Island). At the beginning of the game, your ‘Family’ – the Leonesi's – controls Staten Island alone. You must grow your profits and Respect levels by building and upgrading Speakeasy clubs through importing illegal alcohol, bribing officials and opponents, purchasing weapons, and more..
Use your computer mouse or touchpad for all of the main controls. After you click ‘Start New Game’ on the main menu screen, type in your ‘Mafioso Name’, and then choose a ‘skillset’ (Entrepreneur, Strategist, Generalist, or Diplomat). This categorizes the type of player you begin the game as. Before you start playing, an option to ‘View Tutorial’ pops up on the screen. We highly recommend that you view this tutorial as it explains the many different facets of the game.
There are 5 different tabs along the top of the game screen. The Home Tab (aka News Feed) gives you a general overview of your profits and stock levels. Clicking on the Map Tab brings you to a general map of the 5 Boroughs. As you control Staten Island, you can build Speakeasys in the 3 districts (green pins) that you already control. Simply click on an empty plot of land, and click ‘Upgrade’ to build a Speakeasy there. Your Speakeasys need to be furnished with liquor, so click on a Port (red pin) to import alcohol as you need it. As you progress through the game, you expand into other Boroughs on the map.

The ‘Mobsters’ Tab allows you to view the number of foot soldiers that you have out defending your districts, and/or on jobs importing alcohol at any one time. The Bribery Tab lets you give secret payments either to city officials or rival gangsters. Keeping these people ‘sweet’ increases your profits, and ensures your Respect level remains high throughout the city. Finally, the Shopping Tab allows you to purchase weapons upgrades, alcohol improvements, and more. The tutorial goes through each of the controls and facets of the game in extreme detail. Enjoy!
